To give the motivation (the motivation) for the Pemalang Regency community in carrying out the development was appointed by the Pembangunan Motto in Regional Regulations of Kabupaten Dati II Pemalang Nomor 11 were in 1990 stated by the "Pembangunan Motto" of the "Pemalang Regency was IKHLAS" that was enacted in the Sheet of the Area of the Regency of Dati II Pemalang Nomor 6 on March 5 1991.

The motto Pemalang IKHLAS except for containing the understanding as the above also was the abbreviation from Indah, Komunikatif, Hijau, Lancar, Aman and Sehat Respectively words contains the meaning as follows:
INDAH Contains the meaning of the beautiful life goal, good, was valuable, was worth beauty (aesthetics/artistic) delicious was considered the eyes were felt and pervaded was born and the heart.
KOMUNIKATIF Contains the meaning of the life goal that was open, was easy to communicate, was easy to be asked to speak, was easy to be known, joined was crushed solidest in all the movements of the development
HIJAU Contains the meaning of the life goal that gemah ripah loh jinawi was full of the crop carpet that was useful for the life, green, peace and calm.
LANCAR Contains the meaning of the life goal that wanted always to take a step advanced in a stable manner, without hesitant, free from the obstacle and the pressure from who also.
AMAN Contains the meaning of the life goal that discipline was born and the heart, did not feel frightened or worried, there was no threat or the undermining, as well as created/brought about the power ward off that was strong towards all the threats, the obstacle challenge and any disturbance
SEHAT contains the meaning of the balanced life goal healthy the body, spiritual and social as well as the community that was enthusiastic high and passionate to build. Fine also mean the understanding of welfare was born and the heart for the community member all of them.
IKHLAS as the Development Motto in the development activity was the motivation (the source of the motivation) that must be penetrated and carried, both out by the person of the individual, the group and the community on the whole. Therefore also this development motto must be thought about and carry out by the government machinery in the Pemalang Regency that show in planning, the implementation and the maintenance of results of the development.
